<h1>What are Assets?</h1><img src="https://uploads.productlane.com/0491cb1169a683a54c101463cf3a474b.png">Assets are individual files that can be uploaded to Assemble. Assets also include version control, enabling you to add multiple versions of the asset to create a version history.You can upload any type of file to Assemble, including all popular media files, PDFs, word processing documents, spreadsheets, project files and all other file types.<blockquote>To learn more about version control, click <a href="https://assemble.productlane.com/docs/files/upload-new-versions-of-assets" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" class="cursor-pointer box-border font-semibold border-b hover:border-b-[2px] transition-all duration-75 " style="text-decoration: none; color: inherit; border-color: var(--portal-accent-color);">here</a>.</blockquote><h1>Uploading an Asset</h1>If you'd like to upload an individual asset, open the&nbsp;Phase&nbsp;where you would like to add the asset and either drag a file directly into the phase to start an upload, or click the&nbsp;+ Add&nbsp;button in the top right, and select&nbsp;Asset.<img src="https://uploads.productlane.com/a84b4962b3633525316f3d58795052f2.png">On the next screen, click&nbsp;Browse&nbsp;to select a file from your computer, or&nbsp;Drag &amp; Drop&nbsp;it into the window to upload the asset.<img src="https://uploads.productlane.com/8c91f526124459876852e6c3d678f7f8.png">If you would like to add a file as a link from another website (i.e. Google Docs), click the&nbsp;Add a Link&nbsp;button at the bottom of the page and add in your link, then click&nbsp;Insert.<img src="https://uploads.productlane.com/94f03eae5ee37839de7921f248c767b6.png">By default, the files will be uploaded with their original file name. If you would like to change the file name, just click the&nbsp;Title&nbsp;and enter a new name.<img src="https://uploads.productlane.com/32ca888003167a94ea5b6bcd48ed36f7.png">When finished, click&nbsp;Done&nbsp;and the asset will be uploaded to your project.<h1>Bulk Upload Assets</h1>If you'd like to upload multiple assets at once, just add as many files as you'd like to the upload screen. All of the assets will upload simultaneously.<img src="https://uploads.productlane.com/65a520b4ceece3c16b1834196c5f10e7.png">Once the assets are finished uploading, the will all be added to your project as individual files. For instance, if you upload ten photos together, each photo will be added to the project as a standalone asset.&nbsp;<blockquote>To learn more about adding multiple assets into a gallery, click <a href="https://assemble.productlane.com/docs/files/create-galleries" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" class="cursor-pointer box-border font-semibold border-b hover:border-b-[2px] transition-all duration-75 " style="text-decoration: none; color: inherit; border-color: var(--portal-accent-color);">here</a>.</blockquote><h1>Editing Assets</h1>To edit an asset, open the asset and then click the&nbsp;Three Dot&nbsp;menu at the top right.<img src="https://uploads.productlane.com/dd2a32cda74a3bbd47f7d047bf32225c.png">From this menu, click&nbsp;Edit Asset&nbsp;in order to change the title of the asset.&nbsp;<h1>Inviting Collaborators to Assets</h1>To share an asset with other team members on the project, open the asset and click the&nbsp;Share&nbsp;button at the top right,&nbsp;then select&nbsp;Invite Collaborators.<img src="https://uploads.productlane.com/250681856dcb726be0ad5d06e98f08a6.png">Within this screen, you can grant access to entire&nbsp;Teams&nbsp;or individual&nbsp;Members.
