Adding a Gallery to your Project

Learn how to add a collection of assets together in a gallery.

What are Galleries?

Galleries are a collection of assets in a self-contained gallery. You can any file types together, including photos, videos, audio, PDFs, external links and all other file types. All of these assets will be combined into a gallery. 

When viewing individual files within a gallery, you will see left and right arrows on either side of the asset to enable users to scroll through all of the assets.

Additionally, galleries allow users to star files within the gallery and keep track of which files have been starred.

Adding Galleries to your Project

If you'd like to upload a gallery, open the Phase where you would like to add the asset, click the + Add button in the top right, and select Gallery.

On the next screen, add a Title for your gallery and then click Browse to select files from your computer, or Drag & Drop it into the window to upload the asset.

You can add photos, videos, audio, PDFs, external links or any other file type to a gallery.

If you would like to add a file as a link from another website (i.e. Google Docs), click the Add a Link button at the bottom of the page and add in your link.

By default, the files will be uploaded with their original file name. If you would like to change the file name, just click the Title and enter a new name.

Additionally, you can re-order the assets by clicking and dragging them.

When finished, click Save and the gallery will be added to your project.

Switching Gallery Views

By default galleries open in the single file view. Left and right arrows appear on either side of the assets to enable you to scroll through the gallery.

Clicking the small Arrow at the bottom of the screen will open the carousel list of assets, so that you can quickly navigate through all assets in the gallery.

Additionally, you can click the Grid View button at the top left of the screen to access the grid view of the gallery.

Managing Galleries

Under each asset in your gallery, you can click the Add a Description... section to add a description to each individual asset.

You and your teammates can also leave comments on each asset. Comments are attached to the individual asset.

To change the status of a gallery, click the Set Status option and select an option. This will change the status of the entire gallery as a whole.

Starring Assets

Each gallery contains a starring system that allows you to make selects of certain assets.

Next to the title of each asset there is a Star icon. Clicking this will mark the asset as starred.

You can also view the Star icon in the grid view by hovering over the photo you want to star.

At the top of the gallery, a Counter of how many assets have been starred is kept. Clicking this Counter will filter the gallery to only show the starred assets.

Editing Galleries

To edit a gallery, open the gallery and click the Three Dot Menu at the top right of the gallery, and then select Edit Gallery.

From here, you can rename the gallery, add or delete more assets, and reorder the assets.

Sharing Galleries

To share a gallery with other team members on the project, open the gallery and click the Share button at the top right, then select Invite Collaborators.

Within this screen, you can grant access to entire Teams or individual Members. You can also Invite new members to join the project via email.

Adding team members to an asset in this method will require them to create an Assemble account to join the project.

Within a gallery, you can also utilize Teams to create private feedback threads.

If you would like to share the gallery with external users who do not have Assemble accounts, click the Share button and select Share Review Link.

This will enable you to share this gallery as a public link that can be accessed with no login required.

Once the link is shared, external users can review, comment, and approve the gallery.
